Does ss304 rust?
It's crucial to keep in mind that 304 stainless steel can corrode but won't rust
under typical atmospheric circumstances. Only in surroundings with higher levels
of abrasiveness or in circumstances where the steel's composition contains
impurities can stainless steel corrode.
How can you tell if stainless steel is 304?
A molybdenum-containing stainless steel is present if the colour shifts from
yellow to pink (AISI 316). We know we're dealing with a stainless steel that
doesn't include molybdenum if the yellow stain goes away (AISI 304).
